A guide to saree fabrics

The fabric decides how a saree falls, how it feels after a long day and where you’ll want to wear it. Here is how the fabrics in our range differ.
Silk
Silk has weight and a natural sheen, and it holds a crisp pleat. It is the classic choice for weddings and festivals. Silk blends keep much of that look at a lighter weight and price; we always say when a saree is a blend.
Georgette and chiffon
Both are light and fluid and drape close to the body. Georgette has a slightly grainy feel and more body; chiffon is sheerer and softer. They are easy to carry through a long evening.
Crepe
Crepe has a soft, pebbled texture that resists creasing, which makes it a quiet favourite for travel and office wear.
Cotton and linen
Breathable and comfortable in Indian summers. They hold structure well and soften with every wash.
Satin
Smooth and lustrous with a rich fall, satin suits evening events and receptions.
Every product page names the fabric plainly. If you’re unsure, message us on WhatsApp and we’ll send a close-up video of the weave.
